Welcome to the Chichester City United FC tribute site.

Why put a site together based on a team that were renamed in 2009? Well I spent a lot of time in my Youth watching them and, when I found out that I could own the domain I was keen to bring it back!

I was brought up in Chichester when I was a youngster and the choice was either to hang around on a Saturday with my mates near the shops or go along to the Chichester City United FC game with my Dad, who knew some of the team.

Many a cold afternoon was spent at the Oaklands Park Stadium (less of a stadium when I went, believe me. I was quite upset when they did it up!) watching the boys do their stuff whilst running back and forth trying to put bets on the footy for various old fellas and trying to sneak a listen from someone’s radio to see how the Premier League teams were getting on!

The highlight of wearing the team in green and white play was clearly the 2003-04 Sussex County Football League Division One title winning season, upsetting the football enhanced odds betting gods along the way when others were clear favourites!

In the previous seasons we’d finished in reasonable positions and were getting closer to the top, but no-one really thought we’d go on and win the thing, especially with teams like Burgess Hill in the same division as us.

Adrian Girdler did a grand job for the team and the fact that we nearly got relegated the following season is but a distant memory in my book!

I’ll see if I can dig out as much information as I can about the old days watching the “Chi” – if you have any questions, memories or photos you want to share then contact us at ccufc2015@gmail.com.
